Since 1990 Poland has had the best 25 years in its economic history, growing at the fastest rate among all European economies, and at one of the fastest rates worldwide. Poland has now achieved levels of income, quality of life and well being never experienced before, including in relation to Western Europe, its natural benchmark.

During this period Poland has been undergoing rapid urbanization, with Warsaw as its focal point. An average of more than 15,000 apartments have been sold in Warsaw during the past 10 years. Even so, the greater Warsaw area houses only about 2.6 million inhabitants, a mere 6.4% of the Polish population, compared to above 15% in the largest cities of most Western-European countries.
